The SADC organized (23 & 24 February 2026) a strategic workshop focused on adaptive leadership and professional governance within religious organizations. This initiative brought together the College of Anglican Bishops for a capacity‑building session designed to equip religious leaders with modern tools to navigate an environment marked by uncertainty and rapid social change.

Discussions centered on the principles of adaptive leadership, including the ability to mobilize communities around a shared vision, anticipate emerging challenges, and make informed decisions in a constantly evolving context.

The workshop also addressed the foundations of strong governance — transparency, accountability, and strategic management — essential for strengthening the credibility and long‑term sustainability of religious missions among national and international partners.

Dr. Yves Ndayikunda, President of RECADEC East Africa, contributed actively to the capacity‑building sessions with both the College of Bishops and the technical teams. His involvement helped ensure a shared understanding of the concepts discussed and promoted harmonization in project implementation. This alignment between strategic vision and operational execution is crucial for ensuring the impact and coherence of initiatives led by religious institutions.

This activity highlights the growing importance of spiritual leadership supported by modern governance practices. It also underscores the central role religious organizations can play as actors of social transformation, peace, and development.
